The Omani French Friendship Association (OFA), established in collaboration with the French Embassy, will be hosting its first event in Muscat. The economic seminar titled ‘From Crisis to Opportunities’ in Oil & Gas Industry will be held on November 6, 2016, at the Afrah Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Muscat from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
The seminar will focus on the current impact of the oil prices, share insights on how the public and private sectors can address the impact and also seek to gain perspectives on the way forward.
Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas will preside over the event as the Key Speaker with an eminent panel comprising of corporate heads from leading Oil & Gas companies in Oman.
Speaking in preparation for the seminar, Roland Dubertrand, Ambassador of France to Oman said, “It’s my pleasure to participate in the first Omani French Friendship Association (OFA) economic event on the theme of ‘From Crisis to Opportunities — Oil & Gas industry’. Indeed the issue is particularly crucial for the Sultanate regarding the negative impact of the current relative low oil and gas prices.
Thanks to the high level of speakers and with the participation of Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, this event will be the right place to raise a few recommendations on how public and private sectors can weather the consequences of the crisis but also push for a more active way of diversification.”
The event is actively supported by Bahwan CyberTek Group, Omantel, Suhail Bahwan Group and Duqm Refinery, Oman Oil Company SAOC, Truckoman Oil & Gas Services and Air Liquide.
Hind Bahwan, Chairperson of OFA, said, “I believe that a crisis is an accelerator for opportunity and innovation. Organisations will increasingly be pressed into re-inventing and evolving their business models where technology will play a significant role. The OFA would like to establish itself as catalyst for collaboration where partners can initiate innovation and deliver value at various economic and social levels.”
